Job Purpose

To join a team committed to a relentless commitment to student greatness. As a 5th grade teacher, you will develop lesson plans consistent with established guidelines, establish rapport with students, staff, and parents, and motivate students to develop skills and knowledge appropriate to their abilities.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement a program of instruction that adheres to the company's philosophy, goals, and objectives.
  • Create purposeful lesson plans maximizing time on task.
  • Present subject matter to students, providing real‑world, application‑based examples.
  • Review student records to assess abilities and needs, maintain accurate records.
  • Utilize varied learning modalities and differentiated instruction.
  • Conduct diagnostic assessments frequently and generate progress reports.
  • Referrals of students with suspected learning problems to appropriate support personnel.
  • Coordinate class field trips as required.
  • Prepare students for state‑required achievement assessments.
  • Maintain knowledge of subject matter and learning theory, sharing information to improve curriculum.
  • Assist in curriculum revision, book and instructional material selection.
  • Provide a classroom environment conducive to learning, maintaining order and safety.
  • Establish positive rapport with students, demonstrate patience and nurturing.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administration.
  • Participate in parent communication activities and extracurricular events.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment toward the position and company mission.
  • Strong time‑management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with teachers, students, parents, community, and administration.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Student Information System (SIS), and email.
  • Application of best practices and positive character education.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent; valid teaching certification.
  • Minimum of one to three years successful teaching experience (or equivalent).
  • Command of 5th grade content and learning theory.
  • Successful criminal background check.
  • Adherence to the Code of Ethics for the Education Profession.
Work Environment
  • Usual school conditions
  • May be noisy during high traffic periods
Physical Demands
  • No physical exertion required.
  • Somewhat stressful due to frequent student activity.
  • Light work: exerting up to 20 lbs occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs frequently to move objects.

Job is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
