Position Overview

This registrar position serves grades 6-10 and dual-enrolled students, and acts as the testing coordinator for formal student examinations.

The registrar facilitates student enrollment, record keeping and storage in compliance with federal, state and local guidelines for the charter’s students, capped at 540 seats. The position also assists with the graduation requirements for dual-enrolled students.

This is a career-level position and is eligible for veteran preference. If you qualify, please complete the Veteran Preference section of the application and attach a copy of your DD214.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, monitor and manage an accurate K‑12 and college student database in accordance with federal and state laws and district policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with teachers, college advisors and administration regarding student grades and ensure transcripts and all student data are accurate.
  • Manage the student enrollment process.
  • Build the master schedule and complete student schedules for 6th‑10th grade.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information required by the State of Florida’s FERPA laws.
  • Coordinate the administration of all statewide assessments for middle school, high school and SCF.
  • Attend training and collaborate with the Manatee County School district.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Required Qualifications
    • Education / Experience: Associate degree or equivalent; one to two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with college course equivalencies and degree completion requirements preferred.
    • Supervisory

      Experience:

      One or more years of experience as a “lead” employee, responsible for training teachers in test security and administration, and assisting others with problems as required.
    • Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
    • Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; compute rates, ratios, and percentages; apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
    • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram/chart form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete changes in standardized situations.
    • Computer

      Skills:

      Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, and internet software; basic knowledge of web design software; ability to use College required database software.
    • Certificates and Licenses: None required.
