Job Summary

An instructional lecturer will be responsible for maintaining the highest academic standards in their discipline. The instructor is expected to exercise professionalism and civility in all activities related to academic duties, including interaction with colleagues, peers, community, and students. This is a full‑time, temporary, non‑tenure track position. Contract type:
Non‑Promotional, annual 9‑month contract based on enrollment and funding.

Teaching Expectations

• Face‑to‑face teaching on campus.
• Teach five classes per term (fall and spring).
• Available to start in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Teach all assigned courses.
  • Pursue innovative approaches to instructional delivery, including creative and effective use of technology and online instruction.
  • Actively participate in the College’s sustainability practices and initiatives.

  • Adapt to an environment of continuous growth and fast‑paced change.
  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
  • Maintain attendance and punctuality.
  • Prepare, review, order teaching materials, and update course outlines and syllabi to meet the schedule.
  • Meet all scheduled classes and use classroom time appropriately.
  • Demonstrate a professional attitude, philosophy, compassion, and commitment that promotes student growth and learning.
  • Show commitment to the institutional mission, goals, and objectives.
  • Adhere to College rules, policies, and procedures that adhere to applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate student records for grading and attendance, submitting grade reports within deadlines.
  • Schedule and maintain office hours as assigned.
  • Attend departmental and other meetings as designated.
  • Assist in development, implementation, and evaluation of divisional and departmental program goals.
  • Assist with preparation of public relation materials pertaining to the department.
  • Coordinate substitute instructors during absences and provide instructional materials.
  • Perform tasks as required by the Department Chair or Program Directors.
  • Promote and maintain a healthy and safe educational environment, free from harassment and discrimination.
  • Develop, maintain, and promote a positive, respectful, and civil atmosphere among colleagues and the college community.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in mathematics, statistics, or a related discipline.
  • 18 graduate semester hours in mathematics, statistics, applied science, or related courses in teaching or application of algebra, calculus, or finite mathematics.
  • Demonstrated effective use of instructional technology and familiarity with current office hardware and software.
  • Ability to work in a moderate noise environment.
Physical Demands

Requires sitting, manual dexterity, speaking and hearing. Occasionally required to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
