About This RoleKidde Global Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical/Hardware Engineer to join our Notification Appliance team. This role is responsible for leading the design and development of electronic circuits for new fire notification products, ensuring compliance with global regulatory standards and performance requirements.
The ideal candidate is a technical leader who thrives in a cross‑functional environment and plays a key role in driving innovation from concept through production, working closely with firmware, mechanical, compliance, manufacturing, and quality teams.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design and development of complex analog and digital circuits for fire notification appliances, including strobes, sounders, and speakers
- Define and maintain product architectures and influence long‑term product line strategy
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and worldwide regulatory requirements
- Support product approval and certification with third‑party agencies (UL, FM, CCCF, BRE, etc.)
- Perform advanced circuit analysis, validation, and optimization using simulation tools
- Develop device‑level and system‑level verification and validation plans and support execution
- Partner with manufacturing and supply chain teams to optimize designs for manufacturability (DFM) and cost
- Define production test strategies, including ICT, ATE, functional, and final test development
- Perform root cause analysis of field issues and implement robust corrective actions
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including:
- Schematics and BOMs
- Component specifications
- Test plans and test cases
- RRCA reports and technical reviews
- Collaborate daily with cross‑functional teams across engineering, quality, and operations
- Bachelor’s Degree w/5+ years of experience as an Electrical/Hardware Engineer
- OR
- Master’s Degree w/3+ years of experience as an Electrical/Hardware Engineer
- 5+ years’ analog and digital circuit design and testing experience
- BS Electrical Engineering
- Proven expertise in analog and digital circuit design and testing
- Extensive experience with embedded system architecture and development
- Proficiency with schematic capture tools and leading multi‑layer PCB design efforts
- Experience using circuit simulation tools (e.g., PSpice)
- Strong understanding of EMC, EMI, and signal integrity principles
