Role Description The Civil Design Engineer is a full-time, hybrid role based in Bradenton, FL, with the flexibility to perform some duties from home. This role involves preparing detailed civil site plans, grading and drainage layouts, and utility designs for land development projects in Manatee and Sarasota Counties. The engineer will perform stormwater modeling and design, support SWFWMD permitting applications, and coordinate with regulatory agencies and review boards.
Day-to-day tasks include preparing construction documents, performing design calculations, reviewing survey data, and collaborating with project managers and CAD staff. The Civil Design Engineer will also participate in project meetings, respond to review comments, and help ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within scope.
Qualifications
- Strong civil engineering foundation with skills in Civil Engineering and Civil Engineering Design.
- Experience in Land Development, including site layout, grading, and utilities.
- Proficiency in Stormwater Management, including detention/retention design and SWFWMD-related permitting.
- Knowledge of Roadway Design principles for access, circulation, and related infrastructure.
- Experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D) and basic hydrologic/hydraulic modeling tools.
- Ability to interpret local codes, standards, and permitting requirements for Manatee and Sarasota Counties.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
