Staff Accountant

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. This role is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual seeking to contribute to financial accuracy and operational efficiency within the construction industry. You will play a vital part in maintaining financial integrity and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Responsibilities:

- Reconcile bank accounts to verify the accuracy of financial transactions.

- Oversee month-end closing procedures, including the preparation of financial statements and reports.

- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure timely processing.

- Prepare and post journal entries to maintain precise financial records.

- Review general ledger accounts and promptly address any discrepancies.

- Partner with other departments to streamline financial processes and reporting.

- Stay informed about current accounting standards and practices to ensure compliance.

- Evaluate financial data to provide insights that support strategic business decisions.

Requirements

- Experience with creating and posting journal entries.

- Familiarity with general ledger management and reconciliation.

- Attention to detail and ability to resolve financial discrepancies.

- Solid understanding of accounting principles and month-end procedures.

- Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable recommendations.
