Responsibilities
Adolescent Inpatient Therapist: PRN Weekends is responsible for conducting therapeutic services for patients. They provide counseling sessions for families, individuals and groups. Therapists interview and develop the psychological history, assess the therapeutic needs of the individual and family, develop appropriate treatment objectives and monthly treatment summaries. Therapists act as the patients’ and families’ primary contact during the patient’s stay at the facility and as advocates with the treatment team.
Therapists coordinate discharge planning with outside agencies and the treatment team and family.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Provides group, individual, and family therapy as scheduled and/or assigned, documenting patients/ families' response to interventions.
- Ensures a Psychosocial Assessment is prepared for each patient within established time frames, including all relevant information and sharing with treatment team members.
- Oversees case management and discharge planning components of the patient’s Master Treatment Plan and MTP reviews, documenting discussion of the plan with the patient and family as appropriate.
- Develops appropriate aftercare plans with the patient, assesses needs, arranges for community agency support as appropriate, and documents it. Completes appointment sections of discharge sheet.
- Reports known or suspected abuse of patients.
- Works cooperatively as a member of a multidisciplinary team to achieve quality patient care.

- Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, mental health counseling.
- Current license from the State of Florida, such as LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, LMFTI or LMHCI preferred.
- One (1) year direct clinical experience in family, individual and group therapy with children and/or adolescents. For specialized issues or treatment modalities, training must be specific to these; abuse reactive, sexual offending, substance abuse, sexual trauma, vocational, play therapy, art therapy and relaxation therapy. Must have knowledge of human development over the life span.
- Work is mentally demanding. Extensive walking, standing and sitting. Must be able to participate in the physical restraint and seclusion of patients. Must be able to participate in and complete Handle With Care Training on an annual basis.
