Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Medical Records Specialist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will manage and maintain accurate, complete, and confidential medical records in accordance with healthcare regulations and organizational standards. Your expertise will ensure seamless access to patient information, support clinical workflows, and uphold the highest standards of data integrity and privacy. Responsibilities- Organize, file, and retrieve patient medical records efficiently using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Athena. - Ensure all medical records are complete, accurate, and compliant with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA.
- Update patient information promptly following appointments, treatments, or test results.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate timely documentation and record requests.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive medical information at all times.
- Conduct regular audits of medical records to verify accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in the digitization of paper records and transition to electronic systems as needed.
- Prior experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and medical records management software.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare documentation standards.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining confidentiality.
- Familiarity with medical record retention policies and compliance requirements.
