Medical Assistant

Overview

The Medical Assistant plays an important role in supporting our physicians and caring for patients throughout their visit. This position is ideal for someone who is kind, compassionate, detail-oriented, and enjoys helping patients feel comfortable and cared for in a clinical setting. You’ll work closely with providers and patients, assisting with in-office procedures and ensuring every patient has a positive experience.

• Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures
• Take vitals, update medical histories, record medications/allergies, and document in the EMR
• Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-op care, digital X-rays, and basic podiatric services (nail care, callus removal, diabetic shoe fitting)
• Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education
• Manage lab specimens, complete insurance verifications and pre-authorizations, and process prescriptions as directed
• Make post-operative phone calls, answer patient questions, and provide excellent customer service
• Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory and supplies
• Maintain accurate documentation, support back-office operations, and ensure HIPAA compliance

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program OR 1+ year of clinical experience
• CMA or RMA certification preferred
• Experience with medical terminology and insurance processes (preferred)
• Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinic environment
• Detail-oriented, professional, and patient-focused
• Ability to travel between local office locations, as needed
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
