Responsibilities

Manatee Memorial Hospital offers a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for babies with special needs and has the only Pediatric Center hospital‑based outpatient multidisciplinary pediatric therapy center in Manatee County.
The Medical Generalist Technologist performs a broad range of laboratory testing and analysis to support patient diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring within the acute care hospital setting. This role is responsible for conducting testing across multiple laboratory disciplines, including chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology, blood bank, and other assigned areas, while ensuring accurate, timely, and reliable results. Operates laboratory instrumentation, evaluates quality control data, investigates testing discrepancies, and communicates critical results to support safe and effective patient care.
Collaborates with providers, nurses, and laboratory team members to maintain efficient laboratory operations and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned.
- State of Florida Medical Technologist License required
- American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Certification required
- Minimum of one (1) year medical technologist experience preferred
