This position contributes to the mission of the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center and the goals of the department by obtaining and/or assisting in the processing of laboratory specimens to facilitate the production of quality results.
General Responsibilities- Performs LIS / computer operations and clerical functions as needed.
- Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills, and customer service skills required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Graduate of an accredited Phlebotomy certificate program preferred.
- At least 3 months of active phlebotomy experience is preferred.
- The applicant must possess current skills in the required areas so that the orientation period is not a training period, but strictly an orientation to our facility and its instrumentation, policies, and procedures.
- Recent graduates of phlebotomy certificate programs may be considered in lieu of experience.
- No license is required. Phlebotomy Certification from a phlebotomy program is preferred.
