In our time of Company growth, we seek an Optical Technician/Ophthalmic Assistant.
Work Location:Bradenton, FL
As Part Of This Role, You Will
- Provide quality Comprehensive Eye Care
- Triage patients and give brief description of presenting problem meeting all documentation requirements
- Prepare patient charts for visit with Provider
- Maintain exam rooms
- Perform preliminary tests to assist Doctor with eye exam and record on correct exam
- Assist Doctor with exam procedures when indicated
- Perform additional testing when ordered by Doctor
- Read and interpret spectacle and contact lens prescriptions
- Fit and measure frames on patient for proper size
- Track spectacle Rx orders and frame inventory
What you need to bring to this role
- High School Diploma or GED required
- At least 1 year experience in in Optometric. Ophthalmic, or Medical office preferred
- Certification at one of the following levels: COA, COT, COMT, CPO, CPOA, CPO is preferred
- A valid Government issued photo
- Microsoft Office Products - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint proficiency required
The Optical Technician/ Ophthalmic Assistant is responsible to provide a courteous, friendly, professional environment for the patients of MCR Health. Daily tasks include working up patients (taking history, checking VAs, EOMs, Pupils, Confrontation Fields, IOPs, Contact Lens l&Rs, Refraction, Fundus Photography, OCTs, etc.), measuring PDs, fitting glasses frames, lensometry.
