, you'll have the unique opportunity to drive our iconic Teal Blood Mobile
, transport lifesaving blood collection teams to community blood drives, and train to become a professional phlebotomist.
No phlebotomy experience? No problem! We provide a comprehensive training program and will teach you everything you need to know to become a skilled member of our Donor Services team.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in phlebotomy, medical field, customer service, or an equivalent field preferred.
- No prior phlebotomy experience required; comprehensive training is provided.
- Strong verbal communication skills, including person-to-person and phone interactions.
- Ability to manage stress and make decisions under pressure.
- Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in basic data entry and record-keeping.
- Problem-solving and reasoning skills.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred but not required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet and register donors and patients.
- Determine donor eligibility based on established guidelines.
- Perform phlebotomy procedures for whole blood collection.
- Provide post-donation care and instructions, including management of adverse reactions.
- Ensure proper storage of blood and prepare units for transport.
- Conduct routine quality control, maintenance, and validation of equipment.
- Report equipment malfunctions or deviations to the crew chief.
- Monitor inventory levels and report supply needs.
- Meet established collection goals.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Participate in safety training and compliance activities.
- Perform other related duties as necessary to support Suncoast Blood Centers' mission and vision.
