JOB DESCRIPTION Position Summary

The Clinical Manager is responsible for oversight of services designed to support adults, and sometimes families, with mental health and/or substance use concerns. The Manager provides clinical guidance and administrative oversight to program supervisors and staff across the market and is responsible for maintaining positive relationships with community stakeholders. The Manager also oversees utilization review, level of care, and appropriate allocation of facility resources by striving to provide quality client care in the most cost-effective manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Reports to work as scheduled daily and performs assigned duties to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
  • Supervises team of program supervisors and assists in supervising direct service staff when necessary.
  • Documents and audits charts within an Electronic Medical Record.
  • Works in a community-based environment managing multiple programs within the service line.
  • Performs utilization and financial management duties.
  • Maintains a clear description of methodology used in conducting utilization review/financial management role.
  • Assures fidelity to best practices, statutory requirements, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Meets appropriate deadlines for certification and recertification.
  • Develops and maintains service line expertise and facilitates expertise of program staff.
  • Reports to the Director of Diversion and Specialty Services.
  • Communicates effectively with treatment team including psychiatrist to ensure appropriate length of stay.
  • Coordinate flow of information between stakeholders, staff, and senior leadership.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has supervisory responsibilities, which may include providing direction, training, coaching, and performance feedback in accordance with system policies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.
  • Organized, dependable, able to articulate needs of the client.
  • Experience with MS software and other computer software.
  • Ability to lead and be a team player.
  • Disciplined, organized, good communication skills, and calm in a crisis.
Minimum Qualifications Education

Master's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or another clinically related behavioral health field required.

Experience
  • Diversion and Forensic Programs & Specialty Court Programs
    - Requires experience working with adults in the criminal justice setting with mental health and substance use diagnoses.
  • Family Support Programs
    - Requires experience working with adults and families in the criminal justice setting with mental health and substance use diagnoses.
Licenses and Certifications

N/A

Preferred Qualifications
  • Florida licensure (LMHC, LCSW, or LMFT) or Registered Intern status per Florida department of Professional Regulation as per chapter 490 or 491 F.S. is preferred. Two years of experience supervising or managing leaders is preferred. Must have valid driver's license, current automobile insurance and have a safe driving record.
  • Knowledge of local mental health, substance abuse, criminal justice, veteran and community resources preferred. Knowledge of best practice standards in family court systems, addiction treatment methodologies, motivational interviewing, trauma-focused treatment, moral reconation therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy.
Physical and

Work Environment Requirements

Work is performed in an office, clinical, residential, and/or community-based environment depending on role and assignment. The position may involve routine use of office, clinical or electric ac systems and equipment. Duties may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and working at a computer.
