Nextaff of Sarasota is hiring an experienced Central Scheduler to join a well-established, multi-office cardiology practice in the Bradenton area. If you have healthcare scheduling or medical office experience and enjoy helping patients navigate their care, this is an excellent opportunity to join a professional cardiology team with a Monday–Friday schedule, no nights or weekends, and the potential to transition into a permanent position.
As a Central Scheduler, you’ll play an important role in the patient experience—coordinating appointments and diagnostic procedures, communicating with patients and clinical offices, completing pre-registration, and helping ensure insurance and authorization information is in place before scheduled services.
What You’ll Do- Schedule and reschedule patient appointments and outpatient diagnostic procedures
- Guide patients and physician office staff through the scheduling process
- Confirm appointments and communicate scheduling or preparation requirements
- Complete accurate patient pre-registration
- Obtain and verify insurance information and authorization requirements
- Enter and maintain accurate patient, insurance, diagnosis, and procedure information
- Coordinate with physician offices and other departments to keep the scheduling process moving efficiently
- Provide professional, courteous service to patients by phone
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow HIPAA and patient privacy requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in a medical practice or hospital environment
- Previous medical scheduling, patient access, medical office, or similar experience
- Experience with insurance verification, medical terminology, healthcare billing, or authorizations is a plus
- Strong computer and data-entry skills, excellent telephone and customer-service skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills and the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- HS diploma or equivalent
