Position Status: Part‑Time (Hourly), Seasonal (Academic School Year)

Work Schedule: Academic Year:
Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM–6:30 PM (20 hrs/week). Summer (Tentative):
Monday–Thursday, 11:00 AM–4:00 PM (hours may vary).

Reports To: Program Director

The Custodian maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment in all areas of the Bradenton Dream Center facility, including regular cleaning duties, minor maintenance tasks, and assisting with set‑up and breakdown for daily programming.

• High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent experience
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license
• Successful completion of a background check
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
• Familiarity with standard cleaning practices and equipment
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, offices, classrooms, and common areas daily
• Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, and disinfect surfaces as required
• Remove trash and recycling from designated areas
• Assist with event set‑up and take‑down
• Perform light maintenance duties (e.g., changing light bulbs, checking restrooms)
• Monitor inventory and notify supervisor when supplies need replenishing
• Ensure all cleaning equipment is used and stored safely
• Report facility maintenance needs (e.g., plumbing, HVAC, electrical)
• Follow all safety and sanitation procedures
• Collaborate and communicate with program staff as needed to ensure facilities are ready for use

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Use of hands and arms for cleaning and equipment handling
• Vision abilities including close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception

• Indoors and occasionally outdoors
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals (with proper safety procedures followed)
• Occasional loud or busy environments due to program activities
