- Provide senior leadership and overall performance accountability for Donor Services, Donor Recruitment, the Contact Center, and Concierge @Home Donor Services.
- Maintain overall accountability for achievement of Sun Coast Blood Centers’ blood collection goals and assigned operational objectives.
- Lead through departmental directors and managers, ensuring they retain responsibility for their teams, workflows, staffing, scheduling, and routine day-to-day operations.
- Establish operational priorities and performance expectations and hold assigned leaders accountable for execution and results.
- Ensure assigned departments operate as an integrated collection system, aligning recruitment, appointment generation, staffing, collection capacity, donor engagement, and operational resources with organizational blood needs.
- Maintain appropriate visibility into field and center operations to understand performance, identify barriers, and support departmental leaders.
- Serve as the senior operational escalation point for issues requiring cross-department coordination, resource decisions, or executive-level intervention.
- Translate organizational collection goals into clear operational and recruitment priorities across assigned departments.
- Provide senior oversight of blood drive recruitment strategy and ensure sufficient collection opportunities are developed to support current and future blood needs.
- Ensure successful blood drive accounts are proactively rebooked and developed into recurring partnerships whenever appropriate.
- Ensure Recruitment maintains a forward-looking 12-month blood drive calendar designed to support collection goals, strengthen account retention, and identify future collection gaps before they become critical.
- Monitor collection performance, recruitment effectiveness, appointment activity, donor trends, and future collection projections and direct corrective strategies when performance is below expectations.
- Ensure recruitment strategy is coordinated with staffing capacity, mobile fleet availability, collection locations, and operational resources.
- Evaluate mobile and fixed-site collection performance and support changes in deployment, scheduling, locations, or resources when needed to improve collection results.
- Support and strengthen relationships with businesses, schools, colleges and universities, healthcare organizations, community groups, and other blood drive partners.
- Ensure fixed-site and mobile Donor Services operations have the staffing, equipment, supplies, and resources necessary to safely and effectively achieve collection requirements.
- Hold departmental leadership accountable for appropriate inventory management practices, including First-In, First-Out (FIFO) utilization where applicable, to minimize shortages, expired supplies, waste, and avoidable costs.
- Ensure Donor Operations equipment is appropriately quality controlled, maintained, and subject to required preventive maintenance in accordance with established procedures and applicable requirements.
- Partner with Supply Chain, Quality, Facilities, Information Technology, and other support departments to resolve equipment, supply, technology, fleet, facility, or logistical barriers affecting donor operations.
- Provide senior oversight of staffing, labor utilization, overtime, productivity, budgets, and operational expenses and require corrective action when performance is outside expectations.
- Provide senior oversight of Concierge @Home performance and ensure the program remains aligned with priority donor and collection needs.
- Provide senior oversight of Contact Center performance, including appointment generation, donor engagement, retention, reactivation, and productivity.
- Partner with Information Technology and Contact Center leadership to evaluate and implement artificial intelligence, automation, and other technology that improves donor engagement, scheduling, communication, and operational efficiency.
- Develop assigned directors and managers through coaching, performance accountability, professional development, and succession planning.
