Production Operator-Day shift

Overview

GENERAL PURPOSE
This position is responsible for properly recognizing the correct linen belonging to the account being processed. You must ensure there is no mixed, dirty, or damaged linen before feeding into the machine or hand-folding it. You must maintain a fast pace speed meeting company’s expectations while practicing safety procedures. The Production Operators will help ensure the machinery is working properly by communicating with their leaders of any issues.

• Feed machinery with sheets, duvets, bathrobes, pillowcases, towels, tablecloths, napkins, mats.
• Maintain a clean and organized working station.
• Ensure the linen being processed belongs to the account assigned.
• Identify any damaged, dirty, or mixed linen and place it in the correct containers.
• Maintain an average production rate of 85% or above based on the IT system in place (Spindle).
• Be logged into the IT system while working on the machine (Spindle).
• Other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• 3 months or more related experience in a commercial laundry or hotel industry.
• Ability to understand, comprehend, and follow simple instructions, short correspondence, and product labeling.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to meet required performance goals and objectives.
• Ability to work in a team environment and alone.
• Good communication, both orally and written in English.
• Attention to detail.

• Inside work: protected from weather conditions.
• Outside work: exposure to weather conditions; protective measures as applicable.
• Both inside and outside work: activities occur in varying environments.
• Noise: ensure awareness of ambient noise level; hearing protection if required.
• Potential hazards: moving parts, electricity, chemicals, etc.
• Screen/viewing requirements and other environmental considerations as applicable.
• Physical stamina may be required for extended work hours.
