- Oversee the preparation, packing, and shipping of products in compliance with company policies.
- Ensure timely and accurate shipping of orders while minimizing errors and delays.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve shipping efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Coordinate with carriers and logistics providers to ensure smooth delivery and cost management.
- Monitor shipment tracking and communicate updates to customers or stakeholders.
- Enter information into SAGE and Christians tool as needed to ensure smooth process flow.
- Inventory and order supplies for the shipping department
- Ensure packaging meets safety standards, company quality guidelines, and customer expectations.
- Select appropriate packaging materials and sizes based on product specifications.
- Evaluate packaging techniques and suggest improvements to reduce material costs or improve protection during transit.
- Monitor packaging inventory levels and order materials as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental and sustainability standards in packaging.
- Enter information is entered into SAGE and Christians tool as needed to ensure smooth process flow.
- Inventory and order supplies for the packaging department
- Lead, train, and supervise a team of packaging and shipping associates to meet operational goals.
- Delegate tasks, monitor performance, and provide feedback and training as needed.
- Maintain a positive work environment and foster teamwork among staff.
- Conduct performance reviews and handle employee issues or concerns in a professional manner.
- Keep track of packaging and shipping materials to ensure stock levels are maintained.
- Collaborate with the purchasing department to reorder materials in a timely manner.
- Track the movement of packaged products and provide reports to management on stock levels.
- Ensure all packaging and shipping operations comply with safety, regulatory, and environmental guidelines.
- Maintain records of shipments, packaging designs, and inventory for auditing purposes.
- Ensure the team follows best practices in handling hazardous materials (if applicable) and follows all safety protocols.
- Identify inefficiencies or challenges within the shipping and packaging processes and propose solutions.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and packaging materials to improve the company's operations.
- Your assistance may be required in other areas but only if requested by your manager.
- Create and or update all packaging and shipping SOP's in accordance with the company's operations.
- Responsible for any other tasks related to the shipping and packaging department that may not be listed.
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or a related field preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years experience in shipping, logistics or packaging management role.
- Strong knowledge of shipping regulations, packaging standards, and logistics operations.
- Experience with warehouse management software (WMS) and shipping platforms (e.g., Fed Ex, UPS, DHL, etc.).
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with budgeting and cost-control strategies.
