Team Lead – Crane Department (1st Shift)
The position, Team Lead, is responsible for motivating, leading, and counseling team members in the Crane Department on 1st Shift. The Group Leader must be knowledgeable in all aspects of the department to effectively lead the team. This position is also responsible for making judgments regarding scheduling, work priorities, and material availability; handling employee concerns; applying rational systems to solve practical problems;
dealing with a variety of concrete variables with only limited standardization; and interpreting a variety of written, oral, diagrammatic, and/or schedule instructions.
- Ability to perform and demonstrate most tasks of the department
- Motivate, assign work, and lead all employees in your department
- Monitor and adjust workflow to meet the requirements of the schedule
- Perform product inspections and evaluate the quality of the work prior to the product leaving the area
- Perform inventory of stock and communicate all shortages to the appropriate personnel (shortage boards, material planners, etc.)
- Maintain and complete all manufacturing paperwork for the area
- Must be willing to lead by example through hands‑on work
- Ability to interact with customers and customer representatives in a professional manner consistent with company practices
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills
- Regular attendance required
- All other duties and responsibilities that are assigned
- High School Diploma or equivalent education
- One year of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated experience performing tasks of the department
- Must not have three or more attendance points within the past 12 months
- Computer literate and experienced with Microsoft products to include Excel and Word
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing principles such as value streams, 5S, Seven General Types of Waste, and project planning

- Ability to lift at least 35 lbs individually; 36‑59 lbs requires 2‑person lift; 60 pounds or greater requires mechanical lift
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)—steel‑toe shoes, safety glasses, vest
- Working conditions will be inside and outside where temperatures will vary from extreme heat to extreme cold for extended periods of time
- This position is regularly exposed to vibration and loud noises
