Position Overview
The Production Operator II contributes to the team-oriented production process, operating automated production equipment, diagnosing machine failures, assisting with preventative maintenance, and ensuring sanitation of all related equipment. This role requires mastery of Enterprise software, compliance with safety policies, and teamwork.
Responsibilities- Check and adhere to production work schedule for job assignments and work reporting times.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures (EEO, Sexual Harassment, Safety, Sarbanes‑Oxley, etc.).
- Perform duties deemed integral by management, including work schedules, attendance policies, and other operating rules.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area at all times while on duty.
- Operate facility metal detector(s) when fully trained and certified.
- Comply with work rules, safety rules, and GMPs.
- Set up equipment following established procedures, specifications, and safety guidelines.
- Ensure continuous, efficient flow of materials through assigned equipment.
- Verify product quality meets required standards during operation.
- Make necessary adjustments to equipment to maintain proper performance, measurements, and production speeds.
- Remove defective product and ensure only compliant product moves forward in the process.
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow all sanitation requirements.
- Complete required documentation and system entries accurately and on time.
- Stooping/Bending and Lifting
- Routinely stoop and bend while lifting from 20 to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally stoop and bend while assisting in lifting a dough module weighing up to 120 pounds.
- Routinely stoop, bend and lift up to 50 pounds of ingredients to a 36‑inch high table and then from table to a 54‑inch high mixer.
- Climbing/Crawling
- Climb fixed and portable ladders between 10 and 20 feet, sometimes while carrying up to 20 pounds of scrap dough and reaching 2 feet to drop scrap dough into the hopper.
- Climb onto and crawl under machinery.
- Push/Pull
- Push or pull wheeled carts weighing 400–500 lbs over distances of 150–300 feet.
- Move a wheeled container weighing up to 2,400 lbs with assistance over a distance of 50 feet.
- Two or more years of related experience.
- High School diploma or equivalency plus successful completion of a technical certification course (e.g., HVAC, auto maintenance/repair).
- Equivalent military training, other related technical training, or completion of at least 45 college credit hours may substitute for technical training.
- Technical certification may include the AIB Science of Baking course.
- Salary Range: $23.71 per hour.
