Production Operator I – Flowers Foods
A role in the production team responsible for operating automated production equipment, diagnosing machinery failures, performing preventative maintenance, maintaining a safe work environment, and managing production data.

Responsibilities- Check and adhere to production work schedule, job assignments, and reporting times.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (EEO, Sexual Harassment, Safety, Sarbanes‑Oxley, etc.).
- Operate and maintain assigned production equipment according to established procedures, safety guidelines, and GMPs.
- Verify product quality meets required standards and remove defective product.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and follow all sanitation requirements.
- Complete required documentation, system entries, and data inputs accurately and on time.
- Perform other duties deemed by management integral to the job, including fulfillment of work schedules and adherence to attendance policies.
- Operate facility metal detector(s) if trained and certified.
- Stooping, bending, and lifting regularly from 20 to 50 lb; occasionally lifting dough modules up to 120 lb.
- Climbing ladders up to 20 ft and carrying up to 20 lb of scrap dough; climbing and crawling under machinery.
- Push or pull wheeled carts 400–500 lb over 150–300 ft; move wheeled containers weighing up to 2400 lb over 50 ft; move equipment up to 900 lb over 50 ft.
- Two or more years of related experience.
- High School diploma or equivalency plus successful completion of a technical certification course (e.g., HVAC, auto maintenance/repair).
- Equivalent military training, other related technical training, or at least 45 college credit hours may substitute for technical training.
- Completion of AIB “Science of Baking” course is a plus.
Salary Range starting at $20.76 per hour.
