General Purpose
This position is responsible for properly recognizing the correct linen belonging to the account being processed. You must ensure there is no mixed, dirty, or damaged linen before feeding it into the machine or hand‑folding it. You must maintain a fast pace while meeting the company’s production expectations and practicing safety procedures. In addition, Production Operators will help ensure the machinery is working properly by communicating any issues to their leaders.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Feeding machinery with sheets, duvets, bathrobes, pillowcases, towels, tablecloths, napkins, mats
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized working station.
- Ensure the linen being processed belongs to the account assigned.
- Identify any damaged, dirty, or mixed linen and properly place it in the correct containers.
- Maintain an average of 85% or above for production based on the IT system in place (Spindle).
- Must be logged into the IT system (Spindle) while working on the machine.
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
- 3 months or more related experience in a commercial laundry or hotel industry.
- Ability to understand, comprehend, and follow simple instructions, short correspondence, and product labeling.
- Ability to add and subtract two‑digit numbers.
- Able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to meet required performance goals and objectives.
- Ability to work in a team environment and alone.
- Good communication skills, both orally and written in English.
- Must have good attention to detail.
The job involves operating in a protected indoor environment with exposure to moving parts, electricity, gas, scaffolding, chemicals, and other potential hazards. The work requires frequent, occasional, or rare physical activities such as standing, walking, sitting, twisting, stooping, reaching, grasping, lifting up to 50 lbs, and operating machinery. Employees must be able to perform tasks under pressure and maintain accurate attention to safety protocols while working in an office or manufacturing setting.
