Part-Time Food Pantry Coordinator
The YMCA is seeking a compassionate and organized Part-Time Food Pantry Coordinator to oversee daily operations of our community food pantry. This role ensures that families and individuals in need are served with dignity, respect, and efficiency, in alignment with the YMCA's mission of strengthening community through healthy living and social responsibility.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate daily pantry operations including food distribution, inventory management, and cleanliness of pantry space
- Maintain accurate records of food received, distributed, and current inventory levels
- Schedule and supervise volunteers assisting with pantry duties
- Develop and maintain partnerships with local food banks, grocery stores, and donors
- Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines related to food storage and handling
- Engage positively with pantry guests, providing excellent customer service and referrals to other support services as needed
- Assist in organizing seasonal food drives and fundraising events
- Prepare and submit reports as required by the YMCA and partner agencies
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred
- Experience in food service, nonprofit work, or community outreach is a plus
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods
