Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Med Surg Registered Nurse to join a 383-bed acute care medical center on Floridas west coast. This facility offers award-winning specialty services including burn care, complex hand repair, a stroke center, and a Level II Trauma Center. Bradenton offers riverfront living, nature preserves, and beautiful white-sand beachesall within quick access to Sarasota, Tampa, and St. Petersburg.
The Med Surg RN will provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Candidates should demonstrate strong critical thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently while ensuring exceptional patient outcomes.
ResponsibilitiesDeliver safe, effective Med Surg nursing care
Assess patient conditions, develop care plans, and evaluate patient responses
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
Provide patient and family education
Demonstrate strong customer service and communication skills
Safely perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and moving patients or equipment up to 50 lbs
EducationNursing Diploma or ASN required
BSN preferred
Licensure & CertificationsActive Florida RN license or compact state equivalent
BLS (American Heart Association or Red Cross) Required
ACLS preferred; required within 6 months of hire
Experience RequirementsMinimum 1 year of RN experience acute care preferred
Experience in LTACH, Home Health, or Rehab accepted
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting
Strong critical thinking, decisive judgment, and communication skills
Mandatory Onsite Interview required for offer consideration
CompensationHourly Rate: $30.76 - $41.50 (based on experience)
Night Differential: $4.75/hr
National Certification: Additional $2.00/hr
