Position: House Supervisor RN 7P-7A

Responsibilities

Suncoast Behavioral Health Center provides quality mental health care and education services for adolescents, ages 11–17 who are experiencing behavioral, emotional, educational, family and social challenges. The dedicated professionals at Suncoast Behavioral Health Center provide quality mental health treatment for children. The program establishes healthy behaviors and prepares children to transition back home.

The Hospital is looking for a House Supervisor RN 7P-7A ($2,500 Sign-On Bonus) who will be responsible for the delivery of quality nursing care for all patients on the Child and Adolescent Units. As a key team member in the clinical area, the Nursing Supervisor promotes a climate of effective performance through role modeling, willingness to learn and teach, and availability to patients and staff.

Organizes, manages and coordinates nursing services on assigned shift as delegated by the Director of Nursing.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Requirements:

  • Current license to practice nursing in Florida (or eligible to receive or renew).
  • Current CPR or BLS certification.
  • Five (5) years of clinical experience in psychiatric nursing, including Charge Nurse experience preferred.
  • Must have thorough working knowledge of Hospital, Nursing, and Management of Human Resources policies and procedures, with demonstrated ability to use skills in clinical and managerial situations.
  • Physical Requirements:

    Physical agility to manage patients with crisis prevention interventions. Push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds. Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending and stooping.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to read, understand, and follow: policies, procedures, and written treatment plans.
  • Must be able to pass a Level 2 Background Screening and Pre‑employment Drug Test.
  • Must be able to interact positively with patients on a daily basis whose behavior may be challenging, uncooperative or aggressive.
  • Must be able to work successfully under highly stressful conditions;
