Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director of the Surgical Services Line, the Surgical Services Nurse Manager is responsible for implementing hospital policies, procedures, and philosophies while overseeing staff activities, daily schedules, and department financials. This role includes performing all duties of a surgical service registered nurse, supervising 24/7 operations, and ensuring efficient service delivery. The Manager must provide appropriate staffing, develop and implement programs and protocols, coordinate performance improvement (PI) initiatives, and manage inventory and departmental education.

Acting as a liaison between the surgical department and other hospital departments, the Manager facilitates smooth patient transitions, ensures positive patient outcomes, and collaborates with the Clinical Educator and other leaders to maintain compliance and support the Director in managing fiscal, supply chain, and staffing responsibilities within a dynamic and fast‑paced environment. Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Graduation from Accredited School of Nursing
  • Current RN licensure in Florida
  • BSN, required
  • MSN, preferred
  • Current BLS Certification through American Heart Association
  • Current ACLS Certification through American Heart Association
  • Current PALS Certification through American Heart Association
