Responsibilities
The Charge Nurse assumes shift responsibility and accountability for planning and providing direct and indirect nursing care to patients, families, and other appropriate parties under the direct supervision of the Nursing Director for the unit. The role coordinates multidisciplinary team members, directs and educates nursing personnel to facilitate optimal health care outcomes in accordance with Manatee Health policies, procedures, standards, and philosophy.
Service Excellence is demonstrated at all times. Other duties as assigned.
Manatee Memorial Hospital® in Bradenton, Florida, has served the citizens of Manatee, Sarasota, and surrounding counties for over 70 years and has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval. The 295‑bed hospital offers advanced healthcare services, including cardiac care, emergency care, surgery (with robotic‐assisted options), weight‑loss program, orthopedic services, radiology, rehabilitation, respiratory care, sleep, oncology, wound care, and women’s and children’s services.
MMH provides a Level II neonatal intensive care unit and the only pediatric center hospital‑based outpatient multidisciplinary therapy center in Manatee County.

- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Current RN licensure in Florida
- Minimum of one year of acute care experience
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- BSN preferred
- Current BLS certification through American Heart Association
- Current ACLS certification through American Heart Association
