Student Nurse Emergency Room Per Diem Varied Shifts MMH

Responsibilities

As part of a patient‑first approach, nurse interns partner with a registered nurse, nurse preceptor, or other licensed healthcare professional to develop critical‑thinking skills and gain experience for a smooth transition into clinical practice upon graduation from an accredited nursing or other accredited occupational program. Interns create and nurture relationships with patients, families, community members, colleagues, and staff within a caring and healing environment while exercising teamwork skills in a professional practice setting.

Interns strive for excellent patient safety and quality outcomes and consistently demonstrate Service Excellence. Other duties are assigned as needed.

• High School Diploma or GED – Required
• Vocational or Technical School Diploma – Required
• Associate’s Degree – Preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree – Preferred
• Master’s Degree – Not Required
• Completion of Level 1 Fundamentals of Nursing – Required

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification – Required
• Active enrollment in an accredited RN or LPN program – Required
• Completion of at least one semester of an accredited RN or LPN program – Required

• Prior Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) experience – Preferred
