Travel RN - Operating Room - Outpatient Surgery​/Same Day Surgery

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Outpatient Surgery/Same Day Surgery position at a Level II Trauma Center in Bradenton, FL, with pre‑op, phase 2, or infusion experience required and a variable call schedule.

• Active FL RN license or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment start)
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in outpatient surgery or a related specialty
• Experience in Pre‑Op, Phase 2/PACU, Infusion, or PAT required — these skills are not trainable within a short‑term assignment
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — no exceptions
• Two professional references required (Florida requirement)
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted

• Outpatient surgery setting within a Level II Trauma Center with 383‑bed capacity
• Unit covers Outpatient Services, Pre‑Op, Phase 2 (PACU), Preadmission Testing (PAT), and Infusion Center
• Unit has 26 Pre‑Op bays and 8 Endo bays with 27 staff on day shift
• Patient ratios vary by area:
  Pre‑Op 1:1, Phase 2 3–5:1, Infusion 5:1
• Endoscopy (ENDO) procedures performed; experience preferred
• Assists anesthesia with nerve blocks
• EMR:
  Meditech (prior experience strongly preferred, as the learning curve is significant)
• Shift hours: 5:00 AM – 2:30 PM; unit operates 5:00 AM – 9:00 PM
• Variable call schedule required
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday rotation required
• Surgical staff scrub color is Ciel Blue
• Meditech EMR experience is strongly preferred; candidates unfamiliar with Meditech may find the system difficult to learn within the assignment timeframe
• Collaborative team environment with approachable surgeons and anesthesiologists; team‑oriented, engaged nursing staff
