Veterinary Technician Assistant
Animal ER of University Park in Bradenton, FL is looking for experienced Veterinary Technician Assistants to join our overnight emergency team. This is a great opportunity for a veterinary professional who enjoys emergency medicine, wants to continue growing their skills, and values teamwork and excellent patient and client care.
As a Veterinary Technician Assistant, you will support patient care, diagnostics, treatments, monitoring, and daily hospital operations while working alongside veterinarians and veterinary technicians in a fast-paced emergency setting.
Compensation- $18–$25 per hour, based on experience
- $2 per hour overnight shift differential for hours worked 10:00 PM–8:00 AM

- Three 12-hour shifts per week
- 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
- Assist with patient care, monitoring, treatments, and safe patient restraint
- Assist with routine diagnostic testing, including radiographs, bloodwork, and fecal testing
- Administer medications under the supervision of a veterinarian or veterinary technician
- Feed and bathe hospitalized patients
- Maintain inventory and stock treatment and hospital areas
- Clean and disinfect cages, kennels, exam rooms, and treatment areas
- Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
- Answer phones and assist clients with questions regarding their pets
- Support veterinarians and veterinary technicians with emergency patient care and hospital needs
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in veterinary medicine
- Prior emergency veterinary experience is preferred
- Working knowledge of basic veterinary medicine and safe patient restraint
- Strong attention to detail and ability to remain composed in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with clients and veterinary team members
- Comfortable adapting to the changing needs of emergency patients
- Passion for learning, professional growth, and providing excellent patient care
- A positive, respectful, and team-oriented approach to working in an animal hospital
- Fluent English speaking and reading skills required.
