Pharmacy Customer Service Associate

Base pay range

$16.00/hr - $18.00/hr

• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Register sales on assigned cash register and provide courteous, efficient checkout service.
• Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision with pharmacy practice, using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them, offering assistance with products and services, and resolving customer issues to ensure a positive experience.
• Recommend items for sale, trade‑up, or companion items.
• Process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as needed, and take customers to OTC aisle when necessary.
• Maintain clean, orderly counters and shelves, keep merchandise merchandised, and take inventory.
• Perform duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including entering pharmacy data, counting and pouring medications, verifying medicine, and checking for interactions.
• Report prescription errors to pharmacist immediately and adhere to company policies and the Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
• Handle telephone calls that do not require pharmacist attention and process manual claims for third‑party prescription programs.
• Assist the Pharmacy Department with inventory management, ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals, and file claims for overages, shortages, or errors.
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
• Construct and maintain promotional displays and complete resets, as directed.
• Assist with separation of food items and stock rotation using FIFO method.
• Provide customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo service and creative machine.
• Assume web pick‑up responsibilities, monitoring orders and picking items for delivery to customers.
• Maintain respectful relationships with coworkers and comply with all company policies.
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program or state‑required certification/registration.
• Attend training and complete PPLs assigned by Manager or corporate to acquire continuing education credits.

• Fluent reading, writing, and speaking in English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

• At least six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Strong math skills for accurate prescription filling, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
• Good computer skills.
• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• PTCB certification.
