Essential Job Functions

• Blood Component Processing Support
• Receive blood products collected through manual and automated methods
• Assist in preparing, labeling, and storing blood components under supervision
• Prepare products for distribution in accordance with established procedures
• Ensure proper storage and handling of all blood components
• Quality and Compliance Support
• Follow all quality control procedures and documentation requirements
• Identify and report discrepancies or concerns to leadership
• Assist with routine quality control and equipment maintenance activities as directed
• Inventory and Supply Support
• Assist with stocking, organizing, and maintaining supplies and materials
• Monitor inventory levels and report needs to leadership
• Support proper handling and storage of supplies and products
• Laboratory Environment and Safety
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Follow all safety, infection control, and environmental protocols
• Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Training and Development
• Participate in onboarding, training, and competency development
• Develop proficiency in component manufacturing processes over time
• Additional Responsibilities
• Participate in meetings and training activities
• Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational success

• Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift and move materials up to 30–60 pounds
• Manual dexterity to handle laboratory equipment and blood products
• Environmental Requirements
• Laboratory environment with exposure to blood and potentially infectious materials
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required
• Exposure to temperature-controlled environments

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Education:
  
  High school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience:
  
  Prior work experience preferred;
  Experience in healthcare, manufacturing, or laboratory environment preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Basic understanding of laboratory or manufacturing processes preferred
• Ability to follow detailed instructions, SOPs, and regulatory requirements
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and consistency
• Ability to perform basic calculations and maintain accurate records
• Ability to manage assigned tasks and meet established timelines
• Basic computer skills, including data entry and system navigation
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Effective communication skills
