Overview
Position Summary
What you'll do- Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates; touring stores and providing feedback; communicating and collaborating with all levels of associates regarding store operations, technology initiatives, merchandising, and company direction.
- Introduces and leads company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicate business objectives to teams.
- Models and demonstrates customer service standards by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model; manages and supports customer service initiatives including community engagement and outreach programs; resolves customer needs and complaints; develops and implements action plans to correct deficiencies; provides process improvement leadership for a high-quality customer experience.
- Drives financial performance and sales by reviewing PL statements, budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses; ensures alignment to sales; monitors merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes; develops action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.
- Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates through hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting expectations, and recognizing performance; promotes a belonging mindset and staff development to meet staffing needs and growth.
- Coordinates and oversees job-related activities by building relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans, identifying goals, measuring progress, and promoting continuous learning.
- Ensures compliance with company policies and ethics by implementing action plans and applying the Open Door Policy in business processes.
- Works to attract, develop, and retain talent, building a high-performing team and a culture of belonging.
- Leads with integrity and serves customers and members by applying data-driven decision making, EDLP/EDLC models, and a customer-first mindset.
- Drives continuous improvements, adopts new technologies, and supports others through change.
- Minimum Qualifications
- 2 years of college; OR 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience; OR 2 years’ general work experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience.
- For facilities selling firearms: successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training.
- For facilities selling only ammunition with state requirements: may require a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility.
- Associates must attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).
- Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University, Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
- General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.

The annual salary range is $65,000.00 – $. Additional compensation may include annual or quarterly bonuses. Some roles include region-based or complex structure pay adjustments, as applicable. This job may include state pay differentials where required by law.
