Responsibilities- Engage in on‑the‑job training to learn how to manage the profitable operations of the assigned store.
- Maintain high standards for merchandising, placement, and store signage and use proper display techniques to create an inviting atmosphere for customers.
- Recruit and hire store associates to serve customers.
- Train associates on operations and merchandising, coaching and correcting when appropriate.
- Oversee and delegate all store activities to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, enforcing company policies and procedures.
- Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
- Implement operational and merchandising direction communicated from corporate headquarters.
- Help the store reach its maximum profit contribution and protect company assets.
- Maintain a high level of customer service across the store.
- Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
- Minimum 3 years of prior retail management experience (hardlines or variety merchandise preferred).
- Experience in BIG BOX retail is a plus.
- Strong productivity management in freight processing.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
- Ability to work in a high‑energy team environment.
- Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. from floor to shoulder height and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
