The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong sales and account management experience, excellent relationship-building skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a balance of business development, account management, customer service, and territory planning to drive revenue growth and support long-term customer partnerships.
Compensation Base salary:
Starting at $62,000 for an established sales territory
Commission: 4% commission on all new accounts
Earning potential: $100,000+ annually
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop new business opportunities within the assigned territory through prospecting, cold calling, networking, referrals, and in-person visits.
Manage and grow an existing book of business while actively identifying and securing new accounts.
Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective customers to support long-term sales growth and customer retention.
Create and execute a territory sales plan, including prospecting goals, account development strategies, and revenue objectives.
Oversee the sales process from initial contact and quoting through order placement, fulfillment, follow-up, and ongoing account management.
Work with a diverse customer base that may include restaurants, grocery stores, theme parks, sports clubs, hospitals, nursing homes, and other food service or retail accounts.
Maintain regular communication with customers to ensure satisfaction, address service needs, and resolve questions or concerns in a timely manner.
Identify opportunities to expand product placement, increase sales within existing accounts, and strengthen overall customer relationships.
Monitor account activity, sales trends, and territory performance to identify opportunities for growth.
Assist with account collections by maintaining follow-up on past-due balances and helping ensure timely payment.
Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of sales experience, preferably in outside sales, account management, business development, or a related field.
Demonstrated success in cold calling, prospecting, and developing new business.
Proven ability to manage customer accounts, build relationships, and meet or exceed sales goals.
Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
Excellent time management, organizational, and follow-up skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to review sales activity, identify trends, and forecast opportunities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.
