Sales Manager

Job Summary

A pivotal leader responsible for driving sales growth and fostering a high‑performing sales team at La‑Z‑Boy Incorporated. The role includes executing personnel and store sales initiatives to achieve revenue targets while upholding the company’s values of people, process, product, and brand.

• Process: Achieve or surpass store and individual sales goals, annual operating benchmarks, and personal objectives.
• Promote In‑home Design Program.
• Champion the selling process: Oversee sales floor interactions, evaluate team performance, and serve as a role model.
• People: Provide coaching, training, and support to improve sales techniques and customer service. Build a motivated, cohesive team and recruit, train, and mentor staff.
• Brand Advocacy: Ensure store and staff reflect the company’s brand image, values, and customer experience standards. Support company‑wide marketing initiatives and promotions.
• Operations: Resolve customer concerns that affect sales operations, support sales promotion planning and execution, collaborate with support teams, and uphold store visual standards and cleanliness.

• Education: High School or GED equivalent.
• Experience: 1–3 years in a retail sales emphasis, with a focus on business unit sales.
• Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, financial understanding, interpersonal communication, analytical abilities, goal orientation, team management, and customer service.
• Ability to work the schedule dictated by business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Experience managing a retail environment with a focus on sales.
• Strong business acumen and advanced interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build effective relationships.

• Training Pay: $20 per hour for 2–6 weeks (no commission).
• Post‑training Base Pay: $10,400 per year.
• Commission & Bonus: 6% on La‑Z‑Boy Design Sales and 4% on other sales.
• Monthly bonus opportunity up to $1,500 based on store sales goals.
• Average earning potential after training: $70,000–$90,000+ (inclusive of base, commission, and bonus).

• Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds.

• May be required to sit, walk, bend, and stoop. Work environment subject to indoor conditions.
• Background and drug screen required.
