The Employee Benefits Insurance Advisor is responsible for developing, selling, and managing employee health and benefits insurance solutions for employer clients.
This role focuses on new business development, client relationship management,and delivering customized benefit strategies that meet employers’ financial and workforce needs. The Producer acts as a trusted advisor, guiding clients through planning, carrier selection, renewals, and ongoing service.
- Identify, prospect, develop and bind new employer group health insurance.
- Retain and renew existing business.
- Generate leads through networking, referrals, cold outreach, and industry events.
- Conduct needs assessments to understand clients’ workforce, budget, and benefits goals.
Present and sell employee health and benefits solutions, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefits.
Client Relationship Management- Serve as primary point of contact for assigned clients.
- Build long-term relationships through consulting & check-ins.
- Coordinate onboarding of new clients and transition of benefits.
- Participate in renewal strategy, negotiations, and plan recommendations.
- Maintain strong knowledge of group health insurance products, carriers, and plan designs.
- Stay current on industry trends, compliance requirements (ACA, ERISA, COBRA), and regulations.
- Collaborate with internal service teams and carrier partners to deliver optimal solutions.
- Work closely with account managers, service teams, and underwriting partners.
- Maintain accurate documentation, proposals, and CRM records.
- Meet or exceed production, revenue, and retention goals.
- Active state insurance license 2-15 Life & Health.
- 2+ years of experience in employee benefits or group health insurance sales.
- Strong consultative and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple prospects and clients simultaneously.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field.
- Experience working with small, mid-market, or large group employers.
- Familiarity with HR, payroll, or benefits administration platforms.
- New business revenue and premium growth.
- Client retention and renewal success.
- Number of qualified prospects and close ratio.
- Cross-sell and upsell of ancillary benefits.
- Hybrid or remote options may be available.
