Position: Splicer I Copper

Copper Splicer you will connect and maintain copper wire networks for telecommunications, ensuring reliable phone and internet services by skillfully splicing and repairing connections.

What You’ll Do
  • With guidance, perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground
  • Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment post-installation
  • Ensure all splicing operations meet strict customer and industry standards
  • Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to in the air
  • Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks
  • Document work performed through daily production reports, including marking up maps and keeping correct material usage records
  • Other duties as assigned
What You’ll Need
  • Minimum age 18
  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company
  • High school diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
  • Valid state driver’s license (not provisional) with an acceptable driving record
  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
  • Six months of copper splicing experience or one year of experience in the telecommunications industry
Additional Qualifications
  • Certified pole climber or ability to demonstrate proficiency as a pole climber (preferred)
Physical Abilities & Exposures
  • Routinely: operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, work alone in remote locations with arms above shoulder level, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift greater than 55 pounds
  • Occasionally: work in confined spaces, use ladder, keyboard, and mouse
