Overview
Woodard & Curran is seeking a Collection System Operator in Bradenton, FL. The ideal candidate will perform routine, preventive and corrective maintenance of sewer collection system conveyance piping, valves, miscellaneous fittings and other assigned assets.
Responsibilities- Perform routine, preventive and corrective maintenance as assigned by the project’s maintenance program.
- Follow safety, operating, and emergency response procedures to perform work in a safe and professional manner.
- Ensure work meets the goals and objectives set by project management.
- Operate equipment for the rehabilitation of manholes and maintenance of the collection system.
- Respond to and resolve customer complaints.
- Record keeping/data entry; daily readings of equipment and processes.
- Clean and maintain facilities, buildings and grounds; repair yards following maintenance procedures.
- Monitor inventory of parts, supplies and chemicals.
- Communicate with co-workers on processes and job activities.
- Assist in inspection processes of sewer lines and manholes; assist in the maintenance and operations of CCTV inspection system.
- Assist in location of utility lines; participate in Asset Management and Maintenance Programs.
- Repairs and maintains sewer lines, manholes and lift stations; respond to emergency situations.
- Monday – Friday, 1st shift. Flexibility and extended shifts to meet seasonal demands of the collection system. Reliable and dependable attendance is essential.
- Standby duty and on-call availability; may require evenings, weekends and holidays as needed; response to emergency events and alarm callouts as scheduled.
- High school diploma or educational equivalent.
- Ability to carry out verbal and written instructions; establish effective working relationships with others.
- Valid Florida Class C Collection System license.
- Willingness to work schedules that may include weekends/holidays; carry a company-provided telephone; respond to emergencies at any time.
- Valid Florida driver's license.
- Successful applicants must pass a pre-placement physical and drug screen.
$26 - $38 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
