Salary Range: $16.00 To $22.00 Hourly

The Helper Electrician plays a crucial supporting role in the electrical construction process, assisting licensed electricians in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This position involves preparing job sites, handling tools and materials, and ensuring that all work complies with safety standards and electrical codes. The Helper Electrician will gain hands-on experience by working closely with experienced electricians, learning the fundamentals of electrical work and troubleshooting techniques.

The role requires a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions accurately to contribute to the successful completion of electrical projects. Ultimately, the Helper Electrician supports the team in delivering high-quality electrical installations that meet client specifications and regulatory requirements.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and terminology.
• Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

• Previous experience or internship in construction or electrical work.
• Familiarity with electrical safety standards and OSHA regulations.
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools used in electrical work.
• Certification in electrical safety or first aid.
• Willingness to pursue further electrical training or apprenticeship programs.

• Assist electricians in installing wiring, outlets, switches, and other electrical components according to blueprints and specifications.
• Prepare and maintain job sites by setting up ladders, scaffolding, and tools, and ensuring materials are organized and accessible.
• Carry out basic tasks such as measuring, cutting, and bending conduit, pulling wires, and securing electrical equipment.
• Follow all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment to maintain a safe working environment.
• Help troubleshoot electrical issues under the supervision of a licensed electrician and report any problems or hazards.
• Clean and maintain tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
• Assist in loading and unloading materials and equipment at job sites.

The Helper Electrician uses foundational electrical knowledge daily to assist in installing and maintaining electrical systems, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and safely. Strong communication skills are essential for understanding instructions from electricians and coordinating with team members on site. Physical stamina and manual dexterity are critical for handling tools, materials, and performing physically demanding tasks efficiently.
