oversee the day-to-day logistics of client transportation, warehousing and purchasing. Responsible for the coordination of preparation of the meal deliveries and the transporting of senior clients to our adult day care and friendship dining centers.

major responsibilities:

• develop and maintain all logistics of the transportation department, including adequate staffing, scheduling, and operations of the transportation program.
• supervise transportation staff assigning daily duties and vehicles to each driver.
• prepare the weekly routing of client pickups and adjust accordingly based on changes in daily attendance.
• prepare weekly order for all client meals (home delivered meals, friendship dining, and daybreak adult day center).
• monitor inventory, assembly, packaging, and preparation of meals to home delivered meal clients and all friendship dining sites.
• work in collaboration with the client services and volunteer services departments to ensure smooth operations and volunteer group opportunities in the mowp warehouse, especially with specialty deliveries like produce on wheels, nutrition addition, and hurricane meals.
• conduct staff training per the guidelines of governing agencies for the appropriate programs and maintain records.
• actively participate on the safety committee.
• will serve as back-up driver as schedules dictate to ensure all routes are covered.
• may perform other duties as required by workload.
• associate’s degree or equivalent work experience in social services or related field.
• a minimum of 3–5 years of experience in the food service or transportation industry, or similar logistical function.
• a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
• experience working in the aging field/senior population is a plus.
• must meet mowp’s insurance policy requirement and have a good driving record.
• managing staff and promoting a positive work environment.
• extremely detailed oriented.
• knowledgeable about transportation departments and routing drivers.
• superior oral and written communication skills.
• knowledge of procurement and purchasing.
• able to forecast/predict workflow and needs, i.e., holiday schedules.
• familiar with warehousing operations.
• strong organizational skills.
• able to multi-task.
• proficient in ms office: word, excel, power point and outlook.
• able to bend, lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds or 50 pounds with assistance.
• able to sit or stand for extended periods.
• able to frequently walk or travel throughout the day for deliveries.
• must have accurate hearing and vision for all job functions of job.

job type: full time / non-exempt

compensation: salary commensurate with experience
