Pay Range: $22.14/hr + DOE

Shift: Mon-Fri 5:30a start

Job Summary

Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks with load lift attachments, transporting waste or recyclable material to facilities or residential locations. Job requires use of front, side, or rear‑end lift attachments; handling containers that may weigh over 1,000 pounds; navigating congested roadways, driveways, alleyways, and lots; and performing skilled vehicle backing maneuvers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate vehicle in accordance with Waste Management Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA, and DOT, as well as all local, state, and federal laws.
  • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections of assigned vehicle and document checks via the standard DVIR.
  • Immediately report all unsafe situations or service‑related issues to the Operations Manager or Dispatch.
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings as required.
  • Work closely with Operations Manager to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.
  • Notify Operations Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
  • Notify Operations Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions including closed or impassable streets or alleyways, receptacles too heavy to service or potential safety hazards.
  • Communicate customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
  • Completely dump all receptacles and leave the customer’s location clean and free of debris.
  • Follow route assignments as directed and complete end‑of‑day documentation and check‑out process.
  • Perform all duties as scheduled by Operations Manager or Dispatch and assist other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • 1 year operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or 1 year equivalent military driving within the last 7 years.
  • Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to official questions, and complete records or reports.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located.
  • Class A or Class B CDL with air‑brake endorsement (Class A upon hire or Class B upon hire).
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED (accredited).
