Assistant Professor of American Politics (Tenure-Stream)

University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, Bradford, PA – Full‑time, beginning Fall 2026.

The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford seeks a full‑time, tenure‑stream assistant professor of American Politics in the Division of Behavioral and Social Sciences.

• Teach 12 undergraduate credits per semester in Political Science.
• Deliver existing courses: PS 0102 American Political Process; PS 0204 Public Policy Process; PS 0207 Congress and the Presidency; PS 1308 American Political Thought; PS 1366 Public Policy Analysis.
• Develop new courses in topics such as Political Parties and Interest Groups, Political Ideologies, Campaigns and Elections, Race and Ethnicity in American Politics, Political Behavior, and other specialization areas to serve History/Political Science and International Affairs majors.
• Contribute scholarship, advising, and service activities to the department.
• Bring comparative, international, or transnational perspectives whenever possible.

• Ph.D. or ABD in American Politics or a closely related field, expected completion by August 2026.
• Strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and experience teaching at the university or collegiate level.
• Experience working with college students from varied backgrounds and applied field experience in the area of expertise.
