Location: West Bradford

The Bradford Area School District is accepting applications for a High School Principal for the start of the 2026 - 2027 School Year. Applications are being accepted until August 10, 2026. Duties and requirements are listed below in the position job description.

TITLE:

High School Principal

JOB SUMMARY:

Provide leadership in the areas of staff development,curriculum,instruction, assessments, problem solving, teambuilding, master scheduling, school/community relations, strategic planning, and in providing a safe/orderly environment conducive to teaching and learning.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise and evaluate professional, paraprofessional, and service personnel; assist in interviewing prospective teacher candidates and participate in the selection, supervision, and assignment of all school building personnel; oversee professional development opportunities for faculty and staff.

Supervise Assistant Principal and all of their assigned duties and responsibilities.

Organize orientation, pre-service, and in-service training of teachers.

Register, orient, and assign pupils, supervise pupil attendance and discipline, coordinate the guidance function including the testing program, and oversee maintenance of student cumulative records.

Attend court hearings and IEP meetings (or delegate the above to Assistant Principal).

Attend special events held to recognize student achievement and other school-sponsored activities, functions, and athletic events.

Establish and maintain an effective learning climate in the school and supervise the school's educational program, including the planning, organization, and implementation of all school activities, programs and schedules.

Develop, revise, and evaluate the instructional program including gifted, special education, summer school, and career and technical education.

Prepare the building's budget; monitor requested materials, supplies, and equipment.

Assume responsibility for the implementation of policies and procedures and recommend changes as needed.

Establish goals and building initiatives and work with the administrative team, faculty and staff to initiate strategies.

Maintain communication with the Superintendent, central administration, and school board, as needed.

Maintain positive family contact and communication.

Implement and oversee alternative education programs, and career and technology programs (in collaboration with CTE Director/Assessment Coordinator)

Oversee the daily operations of the building and address issues in accordance with district policies and procedures.

Supervise the administration of all state and local assessments.

Collaborate with the technology director to administer and implement the building technology programs and logistics.

Assist in the supervision of the athletic program, addressing issues that arise, in coordination with the Director of Athletics.

  • Develop short and long-term goals and objectives for the improvement of educational programs through analyzing student and classroom curriculum based assessment data and summative assessments.

* Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Three (3) years' experience in secondary school instruction and administration/supervision.

Master's degree required.

Knowledge of Federal and State Regulations, compulsory education law, school law, PIAA regulations, and individual grant requirements.

Submission of pre-employment medical examination (Section 148 of the Pennsylvania School Code)

Submission of a report of criminal history record from the Pennsylvania State Police (Section 111 of the Pennsylvania School Code).

Submission of a report of report of criminal history record from the FBI Criminal History Record System.

Submission of a child abuse clearance report from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare in accordance with Act 151 of 1994

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ability to reach above and below the waist.

Ability to use fingers to pick, feel and grasp objects

Ability to lift and/or carry supplies and/or papers weighing no more than 10 lbs.
