The Department of Transportation is seeking a motivated Driver License Examiner who enjoys serving the community. In this role, you will support safe and reliable transportation by evaluating driver skills and assisting customers with licensing needs. • Driver Testing: Conduct road, skills, and knowledge tests for commercial and non-commercial applicants
• Document Verification: Review identification and supporting records to confirm authenticity and prevent fraud
• Vehicle Inspection: Check vehicles for proper mechanical condition and required safety features before testing
• Identity Confirmation: Use systems and databases to authenticate applicant identities and detect irregularities
• Customer Assistance: Provide information on licensing options, test procedures, and application requirements
• Record Processing: Enter test results and issue licensing products for eligible applicants

• One year of experience as a Driver License Examiner Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title) or two years of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public
• Active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver's License or equivalent and twenty-one years of age at the time of application
• No suspensions or revocations of a driver's license during the five year period immediately preceding employment
• All employees hired after February 28, 2022, are required to obtain an active unrestricted Class M driver's license within the first six months of employment or before the end of the probationary period and maintain it during employment
• Active Class A Pennsylvania Commercial Driver's License or equivalent with endorsements: P and N. Commercial Driver License cannot have restrictions: E, L, N, O, or Z
• Must meet PA residency requirement
• Must be able to perform essential job functions

• Candidate must undergo and pass a Fingerprint and Name-Based Criminal History Check prior to employment

• Full-time employment, 80 hours bi-weekly
• Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch
• Overtime and travel as needed
• Telework: No telework option for this position
• Salary: Starting salary may be non-negotiable in some cases
