Job Description

We are looking for an inspiring and dedicated Early Years Lead Practitioner to take charge of our 2-4 room/baby room. You will be a "hands‑on" leader, bridging the gap between management and the classroom, ensuring that our educational curriculum is delivered with excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Room Leadership:
Oversee the daily running of the classroom, mentoring and supporting a small team of practitioners and assistants.
  • Curriculum Planning:
Lead the planning and implementation of age‑appropriate, creative, and challenging activities based on the EYFS.
  • Quality of Care:
Ensure the room environment is safe, stimulating, and inclusive for all children.
  • Assessment Lead:
Oversee the quality of observations and developmental tracking within your room, ensuring every child’s "learning journey" is accurate and up to date.
  • Safeguarding:
Act as a role model for safeguarding within the room, ensuring all daily checks are completed and any concerns are escalated immediately to the Manager.
  • Transition Management:
Support children and parents during transitions (e.g., moving from the baby room to toddlers).
Requirements
  • Qualifications:

Minimum Level 3 in Early Years (Level 4 or above is an advantage).
  • Experience:

At least 2–3 years of experience in a childcare setting with some experience supervising others.
  • Skills:

Strong knowledge of the EYFS, excellent organisational skills, and a "can‑do" attitude.
  • Ethics: A passion for inclusive practice and high standards of cleanliness.
