Future Care Group are on the lookout for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team within a specialist EBD Children’s Residential Home in the Bradford area. The role requires working shifts between 9.30am and 11pm on a rotational basis, with some shifts including overnight sleep-ins for which you would receive a sleep-in supplement of £70 per shift. This is a full-time position requiring 3 or 4 shifts per week on a rotational basis.
We are seeking someone who is committed to shaping the future of the Young People in our care.
Responsibilities- Care and Support:
Provide emotional, physical, and educational support to children and young people within a residential setting. - Relationship Building:
Establish and maintain positive relationships with the children, their families, and external professionals. - Daily
Activities:
Plan and engage in age-appropriate activities that encourage social, emotional, and cognitive development. - Team
Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals to ensure a coordinated and effective care plan for each child. - Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of individual progress, incidents, and other relevant information. - Crisis Intervention:
Respond calmly and effectively to crisis situations, ensuring the safety and well-being of the children at all times.
- A Diploma Level 3 or 4 in Residential Child Care (Children and Young People’s Workforce) or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards this.
- Some relevant experience in working with Children and Young People with social and emotional difficulties or behaviour that challenges.
- Great communication skills, empathy and patience.
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence holder.
- Ability to work shifts and sleep in the home overnight.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Full UK Driving Licence (required).
- Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Child Care (preferred).
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and appointment is conditional upon a satisfactory DBS check.
If you have previously worked as a Support Worker, Care Assistant, Teaching Assistant, SEN Support Worker, Nursery Nurse, Nursery Room Leader or similar, this position may be ideal for you.
