Position: Heavy Goods & Motor Vehicle/Plant Mechanic (Fitter) Night Shift

Position

1 x Night Shifts – 38 hours per week – Salary: £44,525.00 – Shift Pattern: 22:00 – 06:15 (Mon – Thurs), then 18:30 on Friday – 02:00 on Saturday – All posts are based in the Fleet Workshop at Shearbridge Depot, Bradford, BD7 1PU

Responsibilities
  • Carry out the maintenance and repair of a range of vehicles, machines and plant equipment to the required quality standards in an efficient, safe, and cost‑effective manner.
  • Work within the depot/workshop and undertake site and roadside repairs within the BMDC area in all weathers.
  • Maintain a healthy and safe working environment.
  • Provide excellent customer service, acting with courtesy and professionalism at all times.
  • Respond flexibly to changing priorities and service deadlines.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Apprentice trained motor vehicle mechanic to City & Guilds 380/383 Level 2, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent training.
  • Holding a current LGV Class C or C & E driving licence, or willing to work towards it.
  • Literate and numerate to a level that enables the duties listed above.
  • Physically fit to perform walking, kneeling, bending, pulling, pushing, lifting and carrying.
  • Reliable, cooperative, flexible and able to react to fast‑changing circumstances.
  • Well‑developed customer service skills.
