The Senior Joiner is a flexible full or part time on‑site role to suit, based in Bradford.
They will be responsible for creating bespoke leading the production and installation of high‑quality joinery for commercial interior furniture.
Day‑to‑day tasks include:
- Interpreting technical drawings
- Planning, wood working and assembly
- Delivering precise finish carpentry on bespoke pieces and fitted installations - setting standards
- Managing the workshop with progression to production management as the business grows.
The Senior Joiner will oversee workshop and site activities, ensuring safe, efficient use of hand tools and power tools, and maintaining high standards of craftsmanship aligned with BB Designs’ sustainability principles. This role collaborates closely with designers, project managers, and other trades to solve technical challenges, coordinate timelines, and ensure projects are delivered on specification and on schedule. The Senior Joiner will also mentor junior team members, support continuous improvement in processes, and contribute to innovative approaches that maximize material reuse and minimize waste.
What we need- Strong experience in structural Carpentry and Framing for commercial interiors and furniture using wood, not panel products.
- Proficient use of Hand Tools and Power Tools, with a commitment to safe working practices.
- Advanced Finish Carpentry skills, including detailed fitting, trimming, and bespoke joinery work.
- Demonstrated experience in workshop and on‑site joinery for commercial or high‑end residential projects.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications with accuracy.
- Experience leading teams and coordinating work with other trades.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail, with a focus on quality and durability.
- Understanding of or interest in circular design and material reuse.
- Relevant trade qualification NVQ in joinery/carpentry , or equivalent industry experience of over 5 years with a portfolio of work.
- Reliable, organized, and able to work on‑site in Bradford
- Attention to detail, with proficient skills to work in a timely manner
- Motivated and passionate about woodworking
- Positive mindset and a can do attitude
- Happy to work with juniors and apprentices
- Excellent communicator : "Would like to change something - talks to the designer first"
